Why I have a MacBook Air (the 100 word version)
Turns out I don’t need all the crazy that comes with a laptop. That’s for the Mac Pro. I have portable needs that are different. The Air and I are going to make some nifty little web things coming up. If its too crazy to build on the Air, then its too crazy… More to come.

iPhone SDK delayed...?
So, to start off this beautiful saturday, numerous reports of the iPhone SDK being delayed have surfaced all at once. This is bad news for my desires for a video camera application… and bad news for iPhone programmers. The reports peg the release within 1 to 3 weeks, so about mid-march. I have many videos of Meow Mix to film so they need to get on it.

The Hard Takeoff Scenario
Artificial Intelligence researchers are constantly theorizing on the future of A.I. development. One possible scenario is the “Hard Takeoff”. It is the sudden emergence of A.I at a superhuman level. It sounds crazy, but it is a real possibility in the coming years, and one that serious researchers are considering. A few things would be required to have an A.I. appear at that level....

Post Writer's Strike Awesomeness
Carson Daly was forced to go back to work hosting his show Last Call during the writer’s strike or risk being cancelled… but it seems the NBC suits realized one super awesome fact during the show’s writer-less run…without writers, Last Call was no better and no worse… So now that the writer’s have negotiated a settlement and returned to work, the NBC suits have...

Netflix: 2 ME: 0
I just received this disk from Netflix. My afternoon is now totally ruined. And to top that off, I also received another disk that is bent in such a way as to be unplayable. 2 damaged disks in one day. What a disaster. I called Netflix to complain and they offered to release extra movies to me for free and ship them right away… but that doesn’t solve my craving for 80’s...

Celebrity TV news magazines
This interesting article uses a pie chart to demonstrate that shows like Entertainment Tonight and The Insider tease upcoming segments almost as much as they show actual stories. Forever these shows have been the absolute lowest of the low in TV journalism, acting as mouth pieces for studios and publicists, but Jezebel’s take on the whole thing is pretty good.

The iTunes rental store had a big update recently and Danny Boyle’s Sunshine became available. I saw this film in the theaters and loved every minute of it. I was quick to trust the film as Boyle directed one of my favorite films of all time, 28 Days Later. Sunshine is set in 2057 and follows the crew of the spacecraft Icarus II, which is essentially a giant nuclear...
ZAK FM →
zachklein: I’ve owned the domain zak.fm for about 6 months and tonight I decided to do something with it. Now it plays music based on what I’ve listened to recently compared with what’s available to be downloaded on the internet. It’s bare bones, lacking a display of what’s playing, but I hope to wrangle my buddy Anthony from Hype Machine to help me make something more useful soon. For now, you...

This is a joke that an Eyeboogie producer said to me this morning that I made him record in our voice over booth for posterity’s sake… We don’t have an HR department here. Zombie Maitz wired the sound booth so he can share in the credit/responsibility.
Danger Dogs EXPOSED!!!
Ok, so anyone who has stumbled out of a bar at 2am knows about the gloriousness that is the Los Angeles Danger Dog. Amazingly wrapped in bacon and served with peppers and onions and served by an asian/mexican lady who cooks this whole thing on wheeled cart on the sidewalk. Awesome. LA Weekly has a new write up about Danger Dogs and you can read it right HERE. Eat one. Or two. Srsly.
